Juliet Capulet’s Monologue

https://youtu.be/8cbMESgbEns I truly liked the process of a monologue. When decided to do this monologue, I was going to do the version that I have seen done so many times. I was planning on doing the original language within a nightgown and just being embarrassed and just talking Romeo's ear off. Though when I started to do the exercise I realized I wanted to put our version on it. Once it was approved, I did the modern version from No Fear Shakespeare. Allowing myself to not have the difficult language of Shakespeare in my project, I still didn't think to do the whole in modern time until we discussed my monologue with the class. Then I really embraced my monologue and was able to realize I relate to Juliet even more than I thought. I noticed we both like older men and the world is against us being together. Having something holding Juliet and me back from our dream romance caused me to involve more in my monologue. Mrs. Guarino even suggested I add at the end of my monologue...

Juliet Capulet True Characterization

As I was moving around as Juliet Capulet, I realized I play her as a graceful, sweet, innocent teen girl. She likes to daydream a lot. She is always thinking about the future and overthinking everything. She tends to imagine her life Romeo especially. She dreamt of a dream boyfriend before Romeo entered her life and changed it. She is delicate but is truly strong-minded and confident. I believe age and knowledge play a part in her behavior. She is proper but relaxed. She is very trusting and believes the best in everyone. She has faith in fate. When I imagine myself as Juliet during her monologue I imagine her flustered and embarrassed. She is a very positive person, kind and gentle.

Juliet Capulet

Who Am I? My monologue is said by Juliet Capulet from Romeo and Juliet. She is a 13-year-old girl and will be turning 14 very soon. She is brown-haired, brown-eyed, and average. She was beautiful and pure. She got an education since she was only 13 years old. She is in love with Romeo Montague who is her family rival meaning her parents won’t approve of her love. Her parents since they are royalty want Juliet to marry a prince which she is against since she found her true love. She is strong-headed but undermined by the people around her. She is passionate about her love for Romeo.  What time is it? This story takes place in the 14th century. Juliet’s birthday was July 31 and it was soon in the book. So it takes place in summer. The monologue takes place late at night. The whole story only takes place of only 4 days overall. So Romeo and Juliet fall in love, get married, Romeo kills her cousin, Romeo gets sent away, Juliet fakes her death, Romeo kills himself to be with Juli...
