Monologue Exercises

The big aspect of exercise 110 is understanding the play and character that our monologue is in and performed by. We should truly know the story and especially the way our character acts and behaves.  We should be able to mentally become our character. I understand her feeling of true love for Romeo and was embarrassed in this scene because she opened up her heart about her love for Romeo and to find out that he actually heard her must have been very nerve-wracking. We should absorb our character's monologue and the character's behavior and actions. Also when we should read the whole play and even make sure the monologue we picked is still the one they can perform best. I have completed reading Romeo and Juliet. I picked this monologue because I understand the feeling of insecurity of love and the embrassemnt of the reveal of her naked emotion. In exercise 111, they want us to discover all the known facts about our character. I know that Juliet is 14 years old, she lives with...

Murder scene

We decided to preform a scene about an integration. We had me kill Aishlyn with a knife though the real scene of the murder is up the audiences imagation. The scene opens cricket sounds with red lights (to show the dramatic murder moment) on me with a knife in hand and Aishlinn dead on the ground. I look at the knife and then realize what I have just done. I drop the knife then go into shock with me shaking and rocking back and forth. My hands are shaking and I have my hands on my head in disbelief. Then the camera films Aishlinn’s dead body. Then I go to the table and the lights change to a spotlight (to show how I am intergate)on me. Jackson begins to walk towards me and booming stomps begin. With which stomp I slowly move down towards under the table out of fear. Jackson says hi and I say Hello and then he asks how are you to me and when he finishes I move to be completely under the table, shaking. Aishlinn is then moved to have her body on the table and her hand with my watch ...

Artaud Scene

We decided to preform a scene about an integration. We had me kill Aishlyn with a knife and i leave my watch on her body. then Jackson integration me about the crime and asks about the watch and what I did during the crime. While getting integrated, I am shaking of nervousness and I am slowly shrinking down to underneath the table out of fear. Jackson is talking to me but is facing the audience so that the audience feels uncomfortable and part of the scene. We used a lot of effect on the audience like Artaud.

She Kills Monsters Notes/Reflection

She Kills Monster was an amazing show. I loved being part of the cast. It was cool to be a big character in the play. I liked fighting and using a staff. I love being this super fun, confident person. In the show we used a lot of blocking to express emotion of the characters. I tended to act as if the audience wasn’t there and I forced on the scene to express that they seeing the scene yet not part of it. We showed a lot of tension through fighting. For example, at the end of scene 5 we had a big fight scene and the beat drop of the song was like 30 seconds into the song so the adventurers are standing there looking at the misters before they fight them. Same with most fighting scenes. The lighting in the showed some emotion. Like how the light were brighter in the fantasy world than the real world, The atmosphere was complicated because the universe of the real world versus the fantasy world were constantly changing. The atmosphere/vibe in the fantasy world was bravery and confi...
